‘Mission La Guajira’ It was officially launched last December and this Saturday, May 4, the results of the pilot plan were delivered in advance.
This initiative is part of the National Agreement promoted by the head of state and aims to comprehensively intervene in 81 communities of Manaure and Uribia, where more than 3,600 Wayuu households live.
The strategy is led by the Presidency of the Republic and Grupo Aval, in association with Promigas, La W and Grupo Prisa.

The strategy seeks to enhance sectors such as agriculture, tourism, international trade and production of clean energy, within the framework of the fair energy transition.
The purpose is that the investment includes several fronts of action, including:
- Food safety: inputs for the development of gardens, distribution of sheep and goat species per household, forage bank for minor species per community, inputs for the promotion of healthy eating habits, delivery of genetically modified male goats and support for the assembly of irrigation systems.
- Energy and water supply solutions: solar panels per productive unit in the communities and pool of resources per community (for small repairs of mills, jagüeyes and improvement of irrigation systems).
- Productive projects and social intervention: Wayuu collective work, community visits and social activities, hiring of community leaders, by community, for the use of the Wayuu language, delivery of wool for crafts and strengthening of associativity.
