The initiative will allow all schools to have a general framework to know how to develop autonomous preventive actions.

The detailed document made available to representatives of the University of Talca, Catholic University of Maule, Autonomous University of Chile-Talca headquarters, CFT San Agustín and INACAP.

The initiative was proposed by SENDAafter work started in 2007 together with various higher education institutions.

As a development of this work, a Model for the Prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug Consumption for Higher Educationwhich considers general content, methodological and management tools, for the implementation of prevention programs.

The regional director indicates that this tool “makes it available to higher education institutions and provides a general framework and a guide so that they can implement prevention actions among their students.

It is crucial to focus on prevention and early detection, seeking to establish a framework to understand the path of students through higher education institutions, identifying risk factors and strengthening protection factors,” reaffirmed the Director.

Educational communities that subscribe to the protocol will be able to access support for their development, which includes advice to plan preventive actions. In addition, SENDA will develop preventive workshops, which will be available to the Welfare Departments that wish to implement them with students.
