The documentary ‘En San Isidro’, made by the poet Katherine Bisquet, denounces the violence of the Cuban State against its citizens. The work, produced by Mariana Brugueras, takes up the passage of November 2020, when the police arrested the 31-year-old protesting rapper Denis Solís. After a summary trial, he was sentenced to eight months in prison for the alleged crime of contempt.

In response to this arbitrariness, a group of activists quartered themselves at the headquarters of the San Isidro Movement, an independent cultural organization to which the musician belonged. From there they began a peaceful protest despite the siege and the State Security police siege.

As the days went by and under pressure from the Political Police, the review highlights, some of the protesters began hunger strikes, and others also thirst strikes, to demand the freedom of Denis and that of all Cubans at once. Bisquet announced that when presenting this film in Poland he will express his feelings: “Freedom for political prisoners.” “Freedom for Cuba.”
