Las Tunas.- The incorporation of new services to the business portfolio of the Las Tunas Postal Company in the administrative and technological field is part of the entity’s projections for this calendar.

Douglas Leyva López, general director of Correos Las Tunas, told the Cuban News Agency that, in order to counteract the decrease in traditional services, the entity has drawn up a strategy that also seeks to identify potential new clients.

Among the services incorporated are the extra cash, sales of merchandise on consignment and the printing and reproduction of documents, the latter already active in five units in the province, contributing to income with more than one million pesos in just five months, the manager pointed out.

Leyva López explained that while there are plans to increase the number of offices and municipalities with this service, the extra cash service is present in all units with bank operations and contracts have been concluded with various forms of management for the consignment marketing of merchandise. and varied products.

The maintenance, repair and configuration service of computing media was also incorporated, he added.

Achieving the computerization of one hundred percent of Correos establishments, from offices to branches and counters, is one of the goals that the company supports for this stage.

To date – Leyva López said – the computerization of 85 percent of the units has been achieved through telephone networks or through the use of mobile data, with only six missing due to difficulties with coverage in the geographical area in which that are located.

The challenge is to become a new type of mail, with a technological reconversion that translates into greater efficiency and access to services for the population, whether in collections and payments at home and other traditional services to the use of platforms. e-commerce Tuambia, Katapull and Very easy, whose incorporation of messaging has already allowed an income of more than two million pesos.
