The Electrical Union (UNE) reports that the availability of the National Electrical System (SEN) at 07:00 this Thursday was 2175 MW, the demand of 2475 MW, with 322 MW affected, is estimated for midday one affectation of 550 MW.

On the other hand, unit 8 of the Mariel CTE, unit 6 of the Nuevitas CTE and unit 2 of the Felton CTE are in breakdown. Unit 1 of the CTE Santa Cruz, unit 5 of the CTE Nuevitas and unit 5 of the CTE Rente are under maintenance.

The limitations on thermal generation are 361 MW.

Likewise, 58 distributed generation plants are out of service due to fuel, for a total of 377 MW affected by this concept.

For peak hours, the input of Distributed Generation engines that are out for fuel is estimated to be 80 MW and the input of unit 8 of the CTE Mariel is estimated to be 80 MW (in the start-up process).

Taking this situation into account, an availability of 2,335 MW and a maximum demand of 3,150 MW are estimated for peak hour, for a deficit of 815 MW, so if the expected conditions continue, an impact of 885 MW is forecast during that time.

Yesterday, June 5, 2024, the service was affected due to a capacity deficit starting at 06:12 in the morning and it was not possible to restore the service in the early hours of today.

According to the source, the maximum impact on the day was 953 megawatts (MW) at 8:40 p.m., coinciding with peak hour.
