SAN FRANCISCO — Brett Wisely hit a home run with no outs in the ninth inning after Jason Heyward had tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the top of the frame, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-3 on Friday night.
Dominican Camilo Doval (3-1) secured the victory after squandering only his third save opportunity of the campaign.
Blake Treinen (2-2) took the mound in the ninth inning and immediately walked Luis Matos, who was replaced by runner Tyler Fitzgerald.
Matt Chapman had given the Giants the lead with a two-run home run in the sixth inning, shortly after the Giants announced the death of Puerto Rican Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda.
A minute of silence was observed.
For the Dodgers, Dominican Teoscar Hernández 4-1. Cuban Andy Pagés went 4-2 with one scored. Venezuelan Miguel Rojas 2-1 with one scored.
For the Giants, Cuban Jorge Soler was 1-for-4. Puerto Rican Heliot Ramos was 0-for-4 with one run scored. Venezuelan Matos was 1-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI.
