President Gabriel Boric has begun his tour of Europe, a trip that includes activities in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and France. All of this, which involves approximately 15 hours of flight from Chile to Germany, marks the beginning of a series of high-level meetings and events.

President Boric will begin his official agenda in Berlin, Germany, where he will meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz. At this meeting, key topics such as clean energy and scientific development will be addressed. In addition, Boric will inaugurate the “Chile – Germany: Strategic Partners for Global Challenges” Economic Forum and will participate in the Chile-Germany Innovation Summit. THe will also visit the European Southern Observatory (ESO) to strengthen cooperation in astronomical research. Besides, The president and the Minister of Justice, Luis Cordero, will discuss the expropriation of the former Colonia Dignidad to transform it into a site of memoryannounced in the Public Account 2024.

Subsequently, The president will head to Sweden, where he will meet with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and King Carl XVI Gustaf in Stockholm. The agenda in Sweden includes a visit to the Fryshuset Youth Center, the Chile-Sweden Academic Cooperation Center (ACCESS), and the headquarters of the Scania company.

On June 15 and 16, Boric will participate in the Ukraine Peace Summit in Lucerne, Switzerland, a high-level conference with international leaders. Finally, on June 17, the president will arrive in Paris to meet with Emmanuel Macron and lead the United Nations SDG4 High-Level Mechanism, focused on the contribution of education to the next Future Summit. The president’s return to Chile is scheduled for June 18.
