President of Cuba holds meeting with young Americans

The leader affirmed that the youth of the Caribbean country is present in all important events and processes in society.

On Tuesday, a historic meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and the American Youth Brigade “Let Cuba Live” of the International People’s Assembly, an official source reported.

The members of the group had arrived in the archipelago and had toured the territory for a week, collecting experiences that they later shared with the leader, the Cuban Presidency indicated in a statement.

“We had to get to Cuba to find ourselves and our own struggle,” said the director of the People’s Forum and American social leader, Manolo de los Santos, who moderated a two-hour exchange in the Portocarrero Hall of the Palace of the Revolution. .

The Cuban president expressed before beginning the meeting “For us it is a pleasure to share with young North Americans. We admire them a lot.”

Díaz-Canel told his interlocutors that he will never forget the support of young people in New York in September 2023, when he went out to the corner of Lexington and 38th, in front of the Cuban mission, in the middle of a demonstration of young Americans to ask for the cessation of blockade.

“Of everything. We have been up late into the night, discussing democracy, human rights, economics, philosophy, culture, everything. And of course, dancing a little with the Cubans,” she added.

The leader affirmed that the youth of the Caribbean country is present in all important events and processes in society. He referred to this with numerous examples and stated that the Revolution is a story of the continuity of generations that are united in principles. Although these generations may have drifted apart in time, they are still united by a unity of essences.
