Independent I present Julio Vaccari as the team’s new coach after Rojo’s 2-1 victory over Banfield, within the framework of the fifth round of the Professional League. The former Defense and Justice coach spoke to the press at the Libertadores de América-Ricardo Enrique Bochini stadium after signing his contract until December 2025 and explained why he chose Rojo with a very particular phrase. “There is the smell of blood and I love that.”

“I am very happy to be here. My way of feeling about football and the idiosyncrasies of this Institution are very related. “We want to go out and play on all the fields in the same way and for people to be well represented,” explained the new Rojo coach.

Who is Julio Vaccari
The coach born in Santa Fe is 43 years old. His first steps were at Club Atlético Paz in the Southern Sports League, an amateur tournament. First as a central marker – injuries forced him to retire at the age of 26 – and then as a physical trainer and coach.
He was a video analyst for Marcelo Bielsa and was a member of Gabriel Heinze’s coaching staff, he worked as coach of the Vélez Reserve and also acted as interim in the first team.
In 2022 he took over as coach of Defensa y Justicia, a club from which he left in May 2024 after being eliminated from the Copa Sudamericana.
