The Cooperating Foundation for Child Nutrition (CONIN), the organization that agreed with the Ministry of Human Capital to distribute the merchandise that was stored in warehouses, reported that the powdered milk delivered for free is sold on social networks and that in some dining rooms ask for money to remove them.
“They warned us that on the Marketplace pages, this Facebook place for sales, the milk that we were distributing appeared, but hours after having been distributed,” said the director of CONIN, Diego Álvarez Rivero.
In dialogue with radio Miterthe head of the organization explained: “That was the first warning. There we made the complaint, which we are expanding. Later we received news that it was a little more serious because some dining rooms and picnic areas they were charging their same affiliates or associates to deliver the milk.
“The truth is that it is outrageous, outrageous, annoying,” emphasized Álvarez Rivero, who clarified “it was not a significant volume” that was sold, since everything happened “within minutes of distributing it.”
Although he did not want to give the name of who managed the picnic area, because he does not have the necessary “proof”, the director of CONIN indicated that it is a Mendoza dining room located in the department of Las Heras.
“All dining rooms are managed by a social leader that sometimes he was the one who put it together and other times not because it has been going on for many years. These days we deliver to almost 200 canteens. The messages were from that dining room to its members, through WhatsApp,” he said.
Along these lines, Álvarez Rivero specified: “On social networks they called their associates to pick up the milk in the dining room and what did they say? ‘bring $1000’. “That carton of milk is worth about $5,000.”
“It was not a significant volume because it was minutes after it was being distributed. The complaint had the effect that both the prosecutor’s office and the police began to investigate. The second effect is that it stopped selling due to the consequences that could have resulted from the complaint. “he added.
Finally, the director of CONIN explained: “Marketplace protects anonymity, that is the very serious problem. That is why there have been so many crimes. It is a person who sells without you knowing who he is.”
CONIN is a Non-Profit Organization founded by Dr. Abel Pascual Albino in the province of Mendoza, on September 4, 1993, whose objective is the “fight against child malnutrition” in Argentina, as stated in its official website.
Albino, a pediatrician who knew how to have a good relationship with then-president Mauricio Macri, is remembered for the controversial speech he made in July 2018 when speaking at the National Congress. In addition to speaking out against the voluntary interruption of pregnancy, he was against sexual education and the use of condoms.
