China leads fight against global warming

Nikkei analyzed patents obtained in major countries from 2000 to February 2024.

The results show that Chinese enterprises and research institutions have strong technical capabilities in a wide range of fields, such as carbon dioxide separation and the conversion of hydrocarbons into chemical feedstocks..

Carbon dioxide capture is one of the key technologies to combat global warming; It can capture factory exhaust gases and carbon dioxide contained in the atmosphere and bury them underground or use them as raw materials for chemicals.
