A A night of terror was experienced in a shopping center in the northern area of Buenos Aires when more than 200 teenagers clashed in the food court of the shopping mall. As a result of the massive brawl, at least four young people suffered gunshot wounds and the security of the place and the Buenos Aires Police had to intervene.
According to the first police report, the dispute occurred in the upper floor of the Tortugas Open Mall (TOM), in the town of Tortuguitas in the Malvinas Argentinas district, where the food court and cinema sector is located. The minors had gathered there through a call on social networks called “Juntada Pilchera.”
The time of the meeting was 3 p.m. and, when the call was massive, the minors entered the TOM where, for reasons that are being investigated, they began to fight. A verbal argument escalated in tension and ended with a confrontation between the gangs in the middle of the sector, where there were several families who had to run to avoid being caught in the middle of the dispute.
The security forces indicated that they were alerted by a call to 911 and upon arriving at the TOM they found a fight involving more than 200 minors. “Upon arrival they observed about 250 minors of different sexes hitting each other, so they proceeded to intercede and try to separate, managing to dissipate the crowd. As a result of the brawl, 4 minors were injured with knife cuts,” says the police report, which details that the injured minors are between 14 and 16 years old.. In three of the cases the wounds were superficial, only one 15-year-old boy had to be treated for puncture wounds in the abdomen and right leg.
In addition, a 15-year-old minor was arrested and a kitchen knife was found in his possession and he was identified by witnesses as one of the aggressors. The San Martín Youth UFI intervenes.
