Disney has yet to announce plot details for the sequel to the 2003 favorite comedy, but confirmed its release in theaters in 2025.
Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis They are finally back together on set, as disney released a first look behind the scenes of the production of Freaky Friday 2, which is now officially filming. Lohan and Curtis reprise their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman, respectively.

Cast members return alongside Lohan and Curtis in the sequel Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. New cast members include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Sophia Hammons.
While Lohan and Curtis teased information about Freaky Friday 2 throughout much of 2023, it wasn’t until March that Disney officially announced that the sequel was moving forward. Nisha Ganatra directs the film. He recently directed episodes of “Welcome to Chippendales” from Hulu and directed the films The High Notestarring Dakota Johnson and Tracee Ellis Rossand Late Nightstarring Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson.
Curtis first sparked interest in a second Freaky Friday movie when he told “The View” portal in October 2022 that he had “personally written to Disney” about his desire to make the sequel. The original film’s producer, Andrew Gunn, returns for the sequel along with former Disney executive Kristin Burr.
