Sport added to Summer Mode

Havana.- BOOST actions available to everyone with healthy recreation as a priority is one of the objectives of Inder, one of the organizations involved in the purpose of guaranteeing the Summer Mode.

The stage scheduled from August 29 to August 30 will have an extensive program, designed by specialists from the governing body of sports on the Island and detailed this Tuesday by its first vice president Raúl Fornés Valenciano in the Mesa Redonda radio and television space.

It will be a comprehensive festivity in whose realization other agencies of the central administration of the State and political and mass organizations will also intervene, to enhance enjoyment, in accordance with the moment in which we live.

With that premise, Fornés Valenciano began his appearance, who highlighted that although there will be central activities, what happens in the neighborhoods will be a priority, especially those known as vulnerable, as well as the fishing and mountain communities.

He also mentioned the need to maintain a balance that allows counteracting cultural colonization and strengthening the cohesion of Cubans, in addition to achieving citizen participation that makes the people the main actor in whatever is decided to celebrate.

The director called to give special prominence to young people and to defend the history and ideals of our main heroes in a fresh way.

The first vice president of Inder detailed with dates activities of great relevance since June 29.

He highlighted the celebration of the 60 National School Games, from July 1 to 15, in which the future champions of the 2032 Olympic Games will participate.

Likewise, he pointed out that next Thursday the playoffs of the 63rd National Baseball Series begin, with the eight best teams classified in the first stage, and that July 17 will be a special day for children.

He recalled that the activities for the anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, on July 26, will have their headquarters in the province of Sancti Spíritus and that July 28 will be the time to celebrate the birth of the friend of Cuba, Venezuelan Commander Hugo Chávez Frías.

Precisely on July 26, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be inaugurated, which Cuba will attend with the aspiration of remaining among the top 20 countries in the medal table.

There will be good boxing at the IBA Champions Night, which will be held at the Coliseum of the capital’s Ciudad Deportiva on August 27. The event will feature six professional fights and will have exhibitions in the neighborhoods and the Havana seafront, among other venues.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games begin on August 28 and the 31st of that month will be the closing date of Summer Mode.

Fornés Valenciano mentioned the main challenge of increasing recreational offerings and control, so that they can be widely enjoyed.

He concluded by pointing out the importance of implementing a communication campaign that allows dissemination of what is being done, so that everyone knows what will happen in their neighborhood and in other spaces.
