TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING NO. 1 TROPICAL DEPRESSION TWO

Today, the low pressure area located in the Atlantic Ocean continued to show signs of better organization in its cloudy areas, becoming the second tropical cyclone of this season, tropical depression Two. This system has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts and a minimum central pressure of 1007 hectoPascal.

At five in the afternoon, its central region was located at 9.1 degrees north latitude and 41.9 degrees west longitude, a position that places it about 1970 kilometers east-southeast of Barbados, the easternmost island of the Lesser Antilles arc. It is moving on a course close to the west at a rate of 33 kilometers per hour.

Over the next 12 to 24 hours it should continue moving in a west-northwesterly direction, gaining more organization and intensity and could become Tropical Storm Beryl tonight or tomorrow Saturday and a hurricane on Sunday, before reaching the Lesser Antilles arc, the eastern limit of the Caribbean Sea.

Due to its evolution and future trajectory, this tropical cyclone is being closely monitored.

The next notice on this system will be issued at six pm on Saturday.
