This Monday, The writer Luis Felipe Vásquez Aldana, manager of RCN Radio in Barranquilla, spoke of the launch of his literary work ‘El Immigrant’within the framework of the International Book Fair of Bogotá (Filbo), one of the most relevant cultural events in the country.
The launch is scheduled for 7:00 pm this Thursday, May 8in the midst of great expectations by the public and the author himself, who shared details of the novel in dialogue with the RCN FM.

“With all the expectations and unknowns that can be derived from a meeting as pleasant as this,” said Vásquez Aldana when referring to the literary event. His enthusiasm reflected the symbolic value that this book has, both for him and for the history of Colombian Caribbean, central scenario of the narrative.
The novel revolves around the life of a character that emigrates from Italy to Colombia, and whose destination takes him to the emblematic port of Barranquilla. “It deals precisely the story of a character who comes from the lands of Italy and meets the pleasant company and all the flavors of a meeting of all this transculturality”, Explained the author.
In this context, the work portrays the crossing of two worlds separated by the sea, but united by the immigration experience.

Vásquez Aldana also evoked the historical value of the port of Colombia, “The Golden Gate of the country”, remembering how that dock, opened in 1888, opened the way to a wave of immigration that culturally and socially transformed the Caribbean region.
With ‘The Immigrant’, the author pays tribute to those stories of roots, adaptation and miscegenation that defined entire generations, and that remain deeply relevant in the current context.
