The national government formalized an increase of 2.4% in the average rates of light and 2.52% for gas, which began to rule from this month. The measure was published in the Official Gazette through resolutions of the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE), National Gas Regulatory Entity (Enargas) and the Ministry of Energy of the Nation.
The increases are part of a new tariff scheme that is part of the Quinquenal Tariff (RTQ) review, driven in the context of the extended energy emergency until July 9, 2025.
The Executive established a gradual tariff recomposition plan to cover the operational costs of energy companies, which includes an initial increase of 3% in May for transport and distribution components and then monthly adjustments for 30 consecutive months, that is to say until November 2027.
In addition, an automatic update formula will be implemented that will take into account the consumer price index (CPI) and the wholesale internal price index (IPIM), with the aim of preserving the real value of the rates against inflation.
