The Chinese president, Xi Jinping, left Beijing Wednesday to make a state visit to Russia and participate in the celebrations for the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic war of the Soviet Union, in Moscow, at the invitation of the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
The XI delegation includes Cai Qi, a member of the Permanent Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (PCCH) and director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the PCCH, and Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the PCCH and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“Chinese and Russian peoples are great peoples with heroic blood”
In an article published Wednesday in the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, highlights the important historical and cultural connection that unites Moscow with Beijing. «China and Russia are great powers with brilliant cultural and civilizational values. Chinese and Russian peoples are large peoples with heroic blood, ”says Xi Jinping.
“As the main theaters of military operations in Asia and Europe, China and the Soviet Union endured the weight of the attacks of the militaristic Japan and Nazi Germany, and made a decisive contribution to the victory in the anti -fascist world War,” emphasizes the president, on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the defeat of the III Reich in the Great Patria War, which is commemorated on May 9.
In this context, the president emphasizes that in 1945, “in Europe, in the front, the unwavering red army of the Soviet Union crushed the insidious ambitions of the Nazis, freed the peoples enslaved by German fascism and crowned the magnificent epopeya of the great homeland war with its triumphal victory.”
At the same time, XI recalls that “the Chinese people’s resistance war against Japanese invaders began before any other and lasted more than any other.”
However, the Chinese leader warns that today, 80 years after the victory over Nazism, “the actions of unilateralism, hegemony, anarchy and intimidation exceed limits: all this is once again pushing humanity to a crossroads.”
«The attempts to distort the historical facts about World War II and deny their results, to discredit the historical feats of China and the Soviet Union are condemned to failure! Any attempt to go back the wheel of history will not work with the peoples of China and Russia, nor with the peoples of the world! ”XI highlights in the article.
In this sense, it highlights the importance of vigorously defending the post -war International order. «The creation of the United Nations was, perhaps, the most important decision made by the world community at the end of World War II. China and the Soviet Union were among the first signatories of the United Nations Charter, ”he recalls. “The permanent membership of our countries in the UN Security Council is conditioned by history and won at the expense of lives and blood,” emphasizes the president of the Asian giant.
“Light will dispel the darkness”
According to Xi Jinping, “history teaches that light will dissipate darkness and that justice will finally triumph over evil.” «The International Military Court of Nuremberg and the International Military Court for the Far East have chained war criminals to the pillory of history forever. These two fair sentences, their historical value and their transcendental meaning cannot be reviewed in any way!
“We will remain firm in the protection of historical memory, we will advance together along the path of common prosperity, we will defend international justice and discover together a brilliant future for all humanity,” promises Xi Jinping.
Likewise, the president highlights in the text the “clear historical logic, the powerful internal impulse and the rich cultural root” of the Chinese-Ruso strategic bond, and calls both parties to “jointly resist any attempt to sow discord in friendship and mutual trust between China and Russia, without distracting themselves with momentary plots or opportunistic situations”, moved by the performance of “a stabilizer paper stress resistant in promoting a multipolar world and the formation of a shared destination community for humanity ».
“China and Russia are important powers that make constructive contributions to the maintenance of global strategic stability and the improvement of global governance,” says the president, which describes as “constant” the “decided support between the two countries in matters that affect the fundamental interests and the main concerns of both countries.”
