“As the main theaters of military operations in Asia and Europe, China and the Soviet Union endured the weight of the attacks of the militaristic Japan and Nazi Germany, and made a decisive contribution to the victory in the anti -fascist world War,” emphasizes the president, on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the defeat of the III Reich in the Great Patria War, which is commemorated on May 9.
In this context, the president emphasizes that in 1945, “in Europe, in the front, the unwavering red army of the Soviet Union crushed the insidious ambitions of the Nazis, freed the peoples enslaved by German fascism and crowned the magnificent epopeya of the great homeland war with its triumphal victory.”
At the same time, XI recalls that “the Chinese people’s resistance war against Japanese invaders began before any other and lasted more than any other.”
However, the Chinese leader warns that today, 80 years after the victory over Nazism, “the actions of unilateralism, hegemony, anarchy and intimidation exceed limits: all this is once again pushing humanity to a crossroads.”
