This Wednesday it was confirmed that the OS9 of Carabineros arrested 2 PDI officials for an edge of the caso Brinkswhere we remember more than 11 billion pesos stole.
The police operation, ordered by the O’Higgins Regional Prosecutor’s Office, included raids in police barracks and 3 homes of police officers.
As it was known, the proceedings did not imply the arrests but in the seizures it was found not declared, so they will spend the night in the PDI barracks and on Thursday they will be formalized by violation of the weapons law.
-What is known for now of the case
The theft of the Brinks branch in Rancagua, perpetrated on August 16, 2024, has been classified as one of the largest in the O’Higgins region and one of the most relevant in the recent history of the country.
The criminals, with internal support and the collaboration of former officials of Carabineros, carried out coordinated actions to distract police forces, including vehicle fires and false alerts in the commune.
So far, 28 people have been charged in the investigation, including five excarabineros, who face charges for intimidation, criminal association and reception of vehicles.
