The members of the Weichafe patrol of the military School of the Bernardo O’Higgins liberator obtained the seventh place internationally and the twenty -ninth position in the general table of the Patrol Competition of Patrols Sandhurst 2025 organized by the United States West Point Military Academy.
As infodefense.com published, this international event took place on May 2 and 3 and brought together 48 teams of military academies in Germany, Canada, Chile, the United States, Philippines, France, Japan, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Republic of Korea, United Kingdom and Thailand.
The purpose of this competition, in which the Chilean Army has participated since 2009, is to demonstrate excellence in the military skills of future army officers, competing in a rigorous and uncertain environment, in addition to demonstrating leadership capabilities of small combat units.
This contest gives the student capabilities to face changing situations of the battlefield, thus allowing the importance of teamwork and the discipline that a unit must have to face different missions.
This edition included evidence such as handling in combat; launch of Granada M67; Zodiac rubber navigation; CBRN; Communications, M17 pistol assembly, M4 rifle and M249 and M240 machine guns; land navigation; Sur with M17 pistol and M4 rifle; Obstacle career, among others.
