
Representatives of Chile set of Chile and of Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Peru They developed in Lima the XXXIII round of bilateral conversations with the purpose of reaffirming cooperation ties and consolidating a shared vision of integral security in the region.
The activity was chaired by the Joint Chief of Staff of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Peru, Lieutenant General FAP Luis Tueros Mannantarelliand the chief of the Chilean General Staff (JEMCO)Vice Admiral Pablo Niemann Figari.
According to the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Peru, both high controls highlighted the importance of this round as the main bilateral defense mechanism, aimed at strengthening mutual trust.
At the meeting, sensitive and high impact issues were addressed for both countries, such as border threats linked to transnational organized crime, illegal mining and drug trafficking, phenomena that require joint and coordinated responses.
Likewise, the strengthening of the abilities for disaster risk management was discussed, highlighting the strategic role of the armed forces in timely and effective attention to natural emergencies, for the benefit of the population.
