20 days of intense maritime search by the National Navy of Colombia were completed after the disappearance of the young student Bogota Tatiana Hernández, who was seen last Sunday, April 13 of this year in the vicinity of Santander Avenue, in Cartagena.

Given the lack of and the absence of indications that suppose the admission of the young woman to the sea, the Colombian Navy made a decision in this case.

The institution announced that it will guide its efforts towards the strengthening of accompaniment to the local authorities of the search, on the mainland.

Since the announcement of the disappearance of the young Medicine student of the Nueva Granada University, the Colombian Navy, through surface units, guard, naval aviation, marine infantry and the military gaula, has participated in an articulated , aimed at locating the citizen.

In the of the operation, the naval institution indicated that an estimated area of ​​9,500 km² with air support, and 3,000 km² additional, by surface exploration, including river and coastal routes has been covered.

In addition, specialized diving work, with advanced technical teams, were executed. Similarly, through the maritime traffic station, it has been alerted to vessels that travel through the Bay of Cartagena, in order to report any relevant information that contributes to the young woman’s location.

In support of these actions, the Caribbean Oceanographic and Hydrographic Research Center – CIOH, has carried out hydrographic modeling and projections to identify possible areas of interest; However, so far, positive indications have not been found in that search line.

With the same responsibility, which has guided each phase of this operation, the Colombian Navy will continue to provide support to judicial authorities, police and relief agencies, through the sustained deployment of its abilities in land search tasks, in urban and rural areas.

The Naval Institution reiterates its commitment in the safeguard of life and calls for citizens, to collaborate with information that allows progress in the location of this young woman, through channels: lines 123, 146, 147 or through Channel 16 of VHF Marino.
