Medellín will be the headquarters of the II World Congress

In the decade, Colombia has increased its production of passiflowers by 64%, reaching more than 316,000 tons in 2023. However, only 4% of this production is exported, which shows the need to in quality standardization, phytosanitary certification and the opening of new markets.

Consolidate Colombia as a leader in exotic fruits and strengthen the passionflower industry are the objectives of the II World Pasifloras Congress, which will be held from May 13 to 15, 2025 at the Country Club of Medellín. For three days, producers, exporters, researchers, academics and businessmen will meet to analyze the main challenges of the sector and build new business opportunities in an industry that grows globally.

After several years without being held, Congress returns with a renewed approach in quality, competitiveness and access to international markets. “Pasifloras are an agricultural jewel with enormous potential to transform the rural economy of Colombia and open new opportunities in global ,” says Marisol Parra, executive director of Pasifloras Advance, who with the support of institutions such as SBF, Comfama, Asohofrucol, Fund for Hortifrutícola and Agrosavia Development, among other institutions, is the organizer of the event. “This Congress will be a key for sustainable growth in the sector,” said the executive director.
