Bees sting United in seven-Goal thriller to ignite European dream

Brentford boosted their hopes of European qualification for the in their history with a dramatic 4-3 over a much-rotated Manchester United side at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The lifts Thomas Frank’s side to ninth in the Premier League, just one point behind Bournemouth, with three matches remaining. In stark contrast, United suffered their 16th league defeat of the campaign ; equalling their worst tally in a single since 1989/90.

The Bees nearly made it 3-1 before the break, but Bayindir pulled off a crucial save to deny Norgaard’s glancing header from a Damsgaard -kick.

United emerged with more intent after the interval, yet Brentford extended their lead when Schade nodded home a pinpoint cross from Bryan Mbeumo. Then, Michael Kayode dazzled down the flank before setting up Yoane Wissa to calmly slot in a fourth, confirmed after a brief VAR check.

Garnacho fired a stunning from the edge of the box to reduce the deficit, and Amad Diallo’s deflected shot off Sepp van den Berg set up a tense finale. But Brentford held firm for their third win, keeping their fairytale European push alive.
