The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, General Valeri Gerasimov, informed President Vladimir Putin on Saturday that the operation to expel Ukrainian troops in the Russian region of Kursk has completed successfully.
“Today, the last town of the Kursk region, the Gornal village, has been released from the Ukrainian units,” Gerasimov said by giving the head of the state by videoconference, broadcast on state television.
“kyiv’s regime’s plans to create an alleged strategic bridge head and disrupt our offensive in Donbás have failed,” he added.
The General highlighted the contribution of the North Korean military in the success of the operation to release the Kursk region, invaded by Ukrainian troops last August.
“I would like to highlight the participation of military from the Democratic Popular Republic of Korea in the liberation of the border areas of the Kursk region, who, in accordance with the treaty of comprehensive strategic association among our countries, provided significant assistance to defeat the Ukraine armed group,” he said.
-According to Gerasimov, North Korean soldiers “fought shoulder shoulder” with the Russian military and showed professionalism and heroism.
“The casualties of the armed formations of Ukraine added more than 76,000 military, between dead and injured,” he said. According to his report, in the Kursk region the Ukrainian army lost 412 tanks and almost another 2,500 armored vehicles.

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, congratulated the military for his successful task and stressed that “the adventure of the kyiv regime has completely failed.”
He added that “the enormous losses suffered by the enemy, even among the forces of the Ukraine forces better prepared, trained and equipped according to Western models, will undoubtedly be reflected in the entire combat line.”
“The total defeat of the enemy in the border area of Kursk creates the conditions for future successful actions of our troops in other important areas of the front and approximates the defeat of the neo -Nazi regime,” said the Russian leader.
