The presentation of a unique concert at the capital’s capital theater Salazar of the Antillana band and its director, the well -known interpreter of three Pancho Amat, aims to reissue the great impact of that initial interpretation in the International Convention Center of the Northern Province of Heredia, added the newspaper La Nación.
The show this Wednesday, April 30, at 8:00 p.m. (local time), promised by Amat during that first performance, will include original musicians of the initial group, along with representatives of the new generation, said the source.
“At 75, the Cuban Amat,” the nation describes, “is the heart of the band, whose music is a fundamental part in the history of dance in Latin America, through artists born in Cuba who conquered the world at the top of Son, salsa and flavor.”
According to the Costa Rican newspaper, when the emblematic group was born in the 90’s “to pay tribute to the iconic social club of Havana, the dancers surrendered to them, and now, they continue with that intention of the tribute, the recognition and continue with the legacy.”
The stars of this band- Opina La Nación- “fall in love with their voices and their instruments to whom they long for those times, but also to new generations they find in their music and their dance, an illusion for the sounds of our roots.”
For the nation, this “is precisely what the Cuban group will present in concert in Costa Rica, a party of honor, mischief, talent and joy on the part of a musical institution that marked a milestone in history, through a show whose assembly will now be in charge of the local producer AEA artistic productions.”
The stars of Buena Vista Social Club “are 14 artists who combine musicians of those glorious 90 ′ and others of new generations, under the direction of the teacher Amat, known as the best interpreter of the three Cuban in the world.”
The band “achieves a balance between the past and the present, but always maintaining the essence of the original good view,” says the national publication, and cites a telephone interview with Pancho Amat about the enthusiasm and expectations of the musician, days before this presentation in Costa Rica.
“If there is something that is proud of the musicians of good view of a good view social club is to be cultural ambassadors, not only of the history of Cuba, but also throughout Latin America,” said the interpreter and admitted that “we are very enthusiastic about going there.”
Amat confessed to the nation that in the concert “there will be something of the same and something new, if he liked last time, because we are going to repeat. We carry the songs awarded in the first album, which integrate the most transcendent repertoire of traditional Cuban music.” “But also,” he said, “we have a surprise.”
