The Deliberative Council of José C. Paz repudiated the lack of national funds for the Unpaz Medicine career

The resolution was approved with the votes of the Left Front Unit, Union for the Homeland and together. Freedom progresses did not pronounce on the subject.

During the first session of April, the Deliberative Council of José C. Paz voted a declaration of repudiation due to the lack of transfer of funds by the National government to the Medicine race of the National university of José C. Paz (UNPAZ). The project was presented by Councilwoman Anabela Colli, from the Left Front Unit, and was accompanied by the union blocks for the country and together. From La Libertad Avanza they did not issue an opinion on the subject.

As detailed in the resolution, the sum that was not transferred amounts to $ 889,915,338. The claim is based on a resolution of the Superior Council of the UNAPAZ issued at the end of March, where it was warned about the budgetary situation of the Medicine career. At the beginning of April, the same agency repealed the entrance course that had been used and implemented a new scheme with final exams.

In that context, councilwoman Colli said that “these are the consequences of the brutal budget cut that the national government of Javier Milei has been applying on university education, and that finds the rectors transmission belt of this adjustment.” He added: “In Medicine, for example, the entrance exams that will leave the race to a lot of students will return, and that was a decision of the university.”

The National University of José C. Paz has more than 30,000 students, and the Medicine career has been one of the most convening since its opening. The Deliberative Council declaration adds to the demonstrations that different educational and political sectors have been carrying out in defense of the university budget.
