There is consternation in Barranquilla (Atlantic) for the death of Carolina Isabel Marenco Laurens, a 28 -year -old cosmetologist who was practiced an aesthetic procedure clandestinely. The woman died on April 24, 2025 in an aesthetic office called Dr. Lily, located in the town, in the Riomar town.
The procedure was not carried out by a professional in the field, but by a co -worker of the young woman, who worked in the office where surgery was carried out. The woman in question is Johana Anaya Acosta, who exercises as surgical instrumentator.

Both agreed that liposuction would be done in their lunch hour, at approximately 12:30 pm, taking advantage of the lack of supervision in the place. During the procedure, Acosta administered Lidocaine to Marenco, a local anesthetic who, apparently, his body rejected. What happened resulted in health complications and the death of the patient.
According to the time Research Unit, The owners of the establishment are Lily Paola Balmonte, a specialist in clinical dermatology, aesthetics and cosmiatría and Carlos Cala, her husbandthat serves as plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon, and member of the Colombian Society of Plastic Surgery.
Cala is also an expert in all kinds of aesthetic treatments and procedures such as rhinoplasty, liposculpture and increased increase mammoplasty.
The husband of husbands is represented by lawyer María Paula Escorcia who informed the mentioned media that, in effect, Marenco worked in the office, but that the liposuction to which she underwent had not been authorized.
According to the professional in law, the owners of the establishment never knew of the intentions of the classmates. In fact, they were not in the place when Acosta carried out the aesthetic procedure.
“At the time of surgery, Dr. Balmonte was at a Dermatology Congress and Dr. Cala was attending a procedure in another siteand then attend a presentation of a relative. It was a clandestine operation, ”said the lawyer, in conversation with the news.

Despite Acosta, the liposuction began after 12:00 pm, the authorities were informed about the death of Carolina Isabel Marenco at 4:50 pmapproximately. His body was transferred to Legal Medicine, where the cause of death will be determined, because, although the Lidocaine administration could be the cause of death, this has not yet been confirmed by the competent authorities.
While investigations in this regard, family and friends of the young woman express her pain for her death through social networks. One of the people who spoke is Marlon Herrera, a friend of the cosmetologist, with a message message posted on her Facebook account. There, he announced that Marenco was a mother.
“My friend since children. I don’t believe them yet and I, that on Saturday I mamned you, you told me: ‘You come to bother my life, leave me in peace’, and you laughed, you told me later: ‘The good tqm’ Those were the last words I heard of you in your brother’s birthday.
