Art and culture were present on an emotional with the presentation of the book dance and tradition: Huamalíes, motion and identity roots, written by Teresa Guerra Carhuapoma. The work values ​​the most expressions of the folklore of the people of Huamalíes – Llata, and its launch was a true cultural festival.

The ceremony began with the presentation of the Tuy Tuy dance, declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation. With colorful costumes, energetic steps and a deep symbolic burden, this dance represents the living identity of the Andean communities. The staging was in charge of the cast “Divino Niño Jesús”, made up of residents of Llata ​​- Huamalíes, under the direction of the culture and diffuser of traditional folklore, Fileno Dávila Gabriel.

The event participated in prominent personalities such as Pedro Enrique Roel Mendizábal, researcher at the Intangible Cultural Heritage Directorate of the Ministry of Culture; Esperanza Rosales Alcántara, director of the Deconcentrated Directorate of Culture; Amancio Rojas Cotrina, Dean of the Faculty of Education Sciences; and Nicéforo Bustamante Paulino, director of the Professional Academic School of Historical, Social and Geographical Sciences of the UNHEVAL.

The presentation of the book was a special occasion to revalue the richness of our traditions and share with the new generations the legacy that unites the people. Through dance and tradition, the author expressed her commitment to continue writing the living history of Huamalíes, with the heart and rhythm of the earth that saw her born.
