
In a high -risk operation, Peru National Police officers (PNP) and members of the peasant rounds, achieved the rescue of 50 workers of the Caravelí mining company, who had been taken as hostages by a band of armed criminals in the camp of the Araacoto Annex, located in the district of Huaylillas, in the Pataz province.

As is known, the early morning of Saturday, two police officers and six security workers of the aforementioned company were injured after a confrontation with bullets with hombones.
The uniformed captured Ebert Q. (28) and José E. (21), who would have entered as part of a criminal gang to the aforementioned mining company to subtract sacks with zinc precipitate and even threatened to fires to employees.
Also, during the intervention, firearms were seized, including two shotguns, a carbine, a rifle and two guns, one of them spell. In addition, the PNP seized cell phones and a laptop that would be used by malefactors to coordinate the attack. The detainees were transferred to the Tayabamba police station to continue with the corresponding law proceedings.
It is worth mentioning that General Guillermo Llerena, head of the La Libertad Police Region, led this operation.
