During this day, earthquakes of varied intensity have been recorded in different parts of the country.
However, most movements are imperceptible, because Chile is located on the limit of Nazca and South American tectonic plates, whose movements produce vibrations by the earth’s cortex.
For security reasons, it is relevant to remain informed about the recent tremors registered in the country, a work carried out by the National Seismological Center of the University of Chile.

These are the earthquakes informed by Seismology:
05:46 hours
earthquake of Magnitude 5.2occurred at 48 km west from Punta de Choros and 38 km deep.
04:50 hours
Earthquake of Magnitude 4.7located 238 km south of Puerto Williams and 10 km deep.
04:42 hours
Earthquake of Magnitude 4.3located 227 km south of Puerto Williams and about 10 km deep.
What to do in case of an earthquake
The National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) delivered some recommendations on how to act in the face of an importance seismic movement.
These are the suggestions delivered by Senapred:
- Keep calm and look for a place of seismic protection.
- Protect under a firm element. If it is not possible, stay next to the same object.
- Cut electricity and close water and gas passage keys.
- If you are on the street, get away from buildings, posts and electrical cables.
- In case of being in a massive event, the person must stay in place and protect the head and neck with the arms. In addition, you will also have to follow the instructions of the security managers of the enclosure.
- If it is driving in a tunnel, bridge or highway, the speed and stop after leaving the place should be reduced
