In a global scenario dominated by the exponential growth of digital traffic and the advancement of technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence or cloud computing, data centers have become essential infrastructure. Its depends, critically, on a constant and safe electricity supply. The reliability of energy support systems is, therefore, a key element to guarantee the continuity of the service and avoid interruptions with economic, legal or reputational consequences.

With more than thirty years of experience in the generation of distributed energy, Genesal Energy has developed specific solutions for data centers, adapted to the technical, normative and requirements of each installation. Countries such as Norway, or France have several times in the Galician company to supply designed structural as they meet the highest standards in reliability and efficiency.

Experience applied to critical projects

In Norway, Genesal Energy supplied five structures for a critical data center, with availability requirements exceeding 99,999 %. Another prominent example is in , where two units configured to operate in redundancy were installed, guaranteeing energy security in a high loading environment. In Germany, the focus focused on the reduction of noise and emissions through the of two generators that comply with European environmental regulations, including local regulations on noise pollution in urban areas.

Custom Engineering for Data Centers

The structure groups designed for this sector integrate technologies that allow:

  • Comply with the standards of the Uptime Institute up to 5250 kVA, which makes them suitable for centers classified as Tier III or IV, where the failure is not tolerated.
  • Adapt to the specific requirements of each project: SIDE By Side disposal, radiator cooling systems, custom acoustic envelopes, connections to critical loads or test benches using Powerlock, medium voltage generation (up to 15 kV) and integration with medium voltage cells.
  • Guarantee operational redundancy through parallel systems, so that the failure of a unit does not compromise operation.
  • Incorporate advanced automation, with integration into BMS platforms (Building Management System) and real - monitoring to facilitate remote supervision.
  • Reduce emissions through post -treatment technologies and optimized operation strategies, in line with the most demanding European regulations in sustainability.

Each system is subjected to specific functional tests for data centers: load tests in different scenarios, dynamic response analysis and electromagnetic compatibility verification with customer control systems.

Ecodesign and energy transition

Genesal Energy Strategy in terms of sustainability incorporates ecodesign criteria from the earliest phases of development. This philosophy, certified in accordance with ISO 14006, allows to evaluate and minimize the environmental impact of the generator throughout its life cycle, from the of materials to its operation and maintenance.

All equipment is prepared to function with renewable fuels such as HVO (hydrotive vegetable ), an alternative that facilitates decarbonization without compromising reliability or performance. In addition, the company investigates the use of emerging technologies such as hydrogen as an energy vector and applies modular solutions and additive manufacturing processes to improve productive efficiency and the useful life of equipment.

A technical vision in a sector in

The sustained growth of the data centers sector is promoting the demand for energy solutions that combine operational reliability, technical efficiency and environmental commitment. Genesal Energy responds to this challenge with a technological proposal based on customization, normative adaptation and sustainability innovation.

The ability to design specific solutions for each client, together with competitive delivery times and specialized technical support, has consolidated the company as a reference actor. Its comprehensive approach – from the initial design to the implementation and maintenance – allows to accompany the client throughout the entire project cycle, ensuring a service aligned with the requirements of the most demanding data centers.
