“It is interesting to understand that one is never original, not even with respect to the same,” says Chilean poet Verónica Zondek, who made the review, correction and updating of her books that are today in The splendor of Granada. Poetry gathered (1984-2022).
Under the seal editions books of the thistle, the volume brings together a dozen titles: Entrecielo and enters, the shadow behind the wall, the bone of the memory, wandered, between lizards, the book of the valleys, by grace of man, the city that inhabits, facilities of the memory, nomeolvidos: flowers to name the ignominy, cold fire, memento, a small story y Another wind will sing.
“One book is one and it can be another. Once a book is published, I personally consider myself a privileged reader of it, and in case it is republi, I assign me the power to intervene if it seems to me that I must do it. It is not a game, it is essential,” adds the author.
With a creation story initiated with the publication of his first works in the 80s, Zondek places:
“Writing and publishing then, living in dictatorship, contributed to creating a need and urgency around collaborative networks. (…) The year 86 we began to work in the preparation of the International Congress of Latin American Women Reflect on our writing, ”he says.

Poetry as an experience
Zondek points out that “poetry enters many sides, but it is essentially a well that keeps what you had to live.” Therefore, memory is one of the keys to its poetic creation, framework and in dialogue with other codes and tasks, such as children’s literature, translation, experimental creation and musicalization.
“Poetry contributes to memory because they are epochal records that cannot get out of the story. That is, poetry is memory, it is not to speak of memory,” he explains.
“Poetry, art in general, cannot avoid being memory, is always a record of a certain time and space,” he closes.
