The newborn, daughter of a young couple from Pagani, died at dawn on Thursday at the Umberto I. The mother, a doctor by profession, had insisted on a caesarean section, due to her conditions. The medical team, however, was born to the little girl through a natural birth. The crime hypothesis that is proceeded is to blame. The first notifications of unrepeatable research were sent yesterday, to all the doctors, midwives and paramedics who attended and attended the woman from Wednesday to dawn the next day. The assignment of the task will be formalized on Monday by the prosecutor Federica Miraglia, together with the questions to which the forensic doctor must answer with the autopsy exam. For the same investigated, registered as an act due and in their guarantee, it will be possible to appoint their own consultants to participate in the autopsy. After spending hours of labor with strong pains, in addition to the specific request to be subjected to a caesarean section, doctors decided to give birth to the little one naturally. According to the family, the mother’s psychophysical conditions contradicted that choice. There were great risks, given the anguish of women. The Gynecology Department team followed the standard procedure, therefore, the protocols that impose caesarean section only under certain conditions. After birth, the little girl was placed in the mother’s arms, at dawn on Thursday. However, their respiratory parameters were already worrisome. The attempt to revive her was in vain, the little girl died shortly after. According to the complaint, Beatrice was in good condition until ten o’clock on Wednesday. Even the mother’s pregnancy passed, over the months, without setbacks or problems of any kind. The autopsy should clarify possible responsibilities in the ten doctors who attended the patient, before and after delivery, along with the causes of the death of the newborn. On what happened, several politicians have intervened, expressing solidarity with the family. Among them also the regional counselor, Nunzio Carpentieri, who has announced an interrogation to the Regional Council.
