The regional secretary of Emergencies and Interior, Irene Rodriguez, has called for prudence before the arrival today of a new episode of rain and strong storms that has activated from the Emergency Coordination Center and, according to the forecast of the State Meteorology Agency (Aemet), the alert orange level inside the province of Valencia and yellow level in much of the Valencian Community.

Irene Rodríguez explained that «this adverse weather phenomenon is expected to begin at 12:00 noon and extend all day with accumulated that could reach 40 liters per square meter inside the province of Valencia where the orange alert is activated. In this same area, storms accompanied by large hail can occur ».

The regional secretary has also indicated that “with respect to yellow level alerts, they are activated in the interior of Alicante, the southern interior of Castellón, the southern interior and the entire coast of Valencia and are expected for the same time slot storms with hail probability and accumulated rainfall of 20 liters per square meter.”

Irene Rodriguez has requested that both citizens, as well as the organizations involved in the emergency and the municipalities “are an active part of this situation that can affect us all if things are complicated and, the way to do so, is following the evolution of the episode, especially in the areas where the greater amount of rainfall is planned.
