A video broadcast on social networks shows the exact moment in which a motorist, allegedly drunk, stars in a traffic accident in the municipality of Santa Catarina Pinula. The images, captured by witnesses, reveal how the driver impacts against another vehicle without making any maneuver to avoid collision.
As reported by Municipal Security Police of Santa Catarina Pinulaagents tried to stop the vehicle’s march by noticing the irregular shape in which it was driven. Despite Alto’s signs, the motorist did not stop, which began a chase that concluded when he collided with a private red truck.
After the clash, the driver tried again to escape, but was copied by the municipal agents, who confirmed that he was drunk. Subsequently, he was delivered to the National Civil Police (PNC) and transferred to the corresponding courts to face the legal process.
Local authorities confirmed that no injured people were registered during the incident, only material damage. The case has generated reactions in social networks, where users have requested greater control over drunk drivers and strengthening traffic operations in the area.
Drunk in Guatemala involves serious legal consequences
Guatemalan legislation considers to handle alcohol as a serious infraction.
