In the most recent session of the Departmental Board of Durazno, the nationalist mayor Martín Vidalín asked the IDD administration director, to adopt urgent measures in two points of the city where, he said, the situation of the traffic has become unsustainable.
One of the focused spotlights was the intersection of Rivera and Larrañaga streets. “It is becoming a very dangerous artery. They no longer stop those who come on the right or those that come on the left,” he warned. He recalled that the issue has been repeatedly raised by representatives of different political parties.
Second, he mentioned the situation of 25 de Agosto Street, in the section between Artigas and Morquio, especially in the immediate vicinity of Camedur. “You have nowhere to park or stop, and many times it becomes unsustainable when the loading and download vehicles of the shops in the area are,” he said.
Martín Vidalín requested that the main administration receive the Transit Commission of the Departmental Board to address these and other concerns linked to urban mobility. “We want these words to reach the Executive,” he concluded.
