Atizapán de Zaragoza, Méx.— “It hurts a lot to live on May 10 without my children, without him,” says Sonia when asking for justice and the arrest of Emiliano, who was “my son’s best friend and killed him” inside his house in Sayavedra County and is now a fugitive.
Kevin Atzin Miranda Fonseca, 17, was killed on November 11, 2018, when as a football player he went to celebrate the triumph in the semifinal between Redskins and Buccaneros to the exclusive fractionation of Sayavedra County, invited by his friend Emiliano.
At 23:15 on Saturday, November 10, 2018 “I received the last message from my son”, who sent me a photo that I was in the company of El Pirri, as I called Emiliano, who was also 17 years old.
It was until Sunday, November 11 when they received a call from Emiliano’s father saying that Kevin Atzin “was not right”, which had received a shot.
Upon arriving at Emiliano’s house, “My little son of the then 11 years ran and went under the cord that placed the police, looking and shouting for his brother,” Sonia recalls.
That November 11, 2018 El Universal reported the murder of a 17 -year -old boy on Boulevard de la Torre Street, within the exclusive Sayavedra County subdivision, after neighbors had heard the detonation of a firearm and witnessed the arrival of police, in what they thought would have been an attempted robbery and that it was clearly unknown who the victim was clearly unknown.
Kevin was found by his parents with a shot in the temple, lying sideways in a fetal position, on Emiliano’s bed, who said that he had been “an accident”, but an accident with a weapon occurs more than a meter away not as in this case with a direct shot stuck to his head, says Gerardo, his father.
Emiliano only remained detained for a few months in the Fifth of the Forest, Center for Internment for Adolescents, in the municipality of Zinacantepec, since his lawyers achieved an amparo so that his judgment would be carried out in freedom and under the custody of his parents.
After more than six years of oral trial, amparos and appeals to the sentence of a judge who determined Emiliano’s guilt in Kevin’s murder, finally on April 2, a specialized execution judge in the Integral Criminal Justice System for Adolescents gave a period of five days for Emilian The four -year sentence, four months, 15 days.
This, because in the State of Mexico the crime of homicide is only punished with a maximum sentence of five years for homicides under 18.
-However, Emiliano is already a fugitive, because “it did not appear voluntarily, so we know there is already an arrest warrant against him and a red file to Interpol, to prevent the murder from leaving the country,” says Gerardo by showing the notification of the resolution of file 48/2021 of the Court of Execution Executions Specialized in the Comprehensive System of Criminal Justice for Adolescents of the Judicial Justice of the Judicial District of the Judicial District.

“For six years I was silent on the recommendation of the Prosecutor’s Office and lawyers who forbade me to speak so as not to violate the human rights of the murderer and not to hinder due process,” but now there is a ratified sentence in court that “Emiliano is my son’s murderer, who must be arrested, because he is a fugitive,” emphasizes Sonia.
She hugs and caresses Redskins’ American football helmet that Kevin used and in the presence of El Universal decided to open a box wrapped as a gift since 2018 gave her the friends of her son who had not had the courage to see.
“Today I open it because I want justice!” Sonia reiterates with tears while opening the box from which the number 58 emerged that was the one who behaved Kevin as a Redskins player and that his father tattooed in the chest.
Dozens, perhaps a hundred letters written in colored sheets, accompanied with photos and Kevin’s name with messages of affection written by friends and friends of the high school, as well as by Redskins companions and an American football shirt were in the box wrapped as a gift that remained closed for more than six years.
“I want justice to find the murderer and pay for what he did!” Sonia reiterates. “For me there is no May 10, no beautiful date, not even his birthday.”
More than six years have passed and the pain is still present in the Miranda Fonseca family, especially in Sonia, to whom his heart broke “because a mother never thinks about losing a child.”
