The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Madurohe held an encounter with his Burkina Faso counterpart, Ibrahim Traoréwith the purpose of strengthening South – South cooperation, relations that were promoted with the commander Hugo Chávez
These strategic alliances have been promoted in two decades in energy, mining and education. Currently, between Venezuela and Burkina Faso there are 27 agreements in the political, scientific, military, internal security, civil protection, education, among others.
In addition, 14 Projects of Agreement presented by both countries is in negotiation. Venezuela recognizes the position assumed by the aforementioned African nation of non -intervention in internal affairs, respect for international law and the Charter of the United Nations Organization against the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government against the country.
On February 7, 2024, the I Meeting of the Mixed Commission Venezuela – Burkina Faso was installed, where both countries advanced in a series of technical cooperation work, which allowed to reach more than 22 agreements of agreements, as noted on that occasion, Foreign Minister Yván Gil.
It should be noted that diplomatic relations in both nations were formalized on September 2, 2003 under the government of Commander Hugo Chávez as part of his policy of approach to Africa, through what he cataloged with the diplomacy between Nations of Mother Africa.
