Cicpc claims the infanticide of a 2 -year -old boy in La Guaira and stops his godmother and caregiver, who provided him with liquor and did not look for medical attention after a fall.
The body of scientific, criminal and criminal investigations (Cicpc) clarified the unfortunate infanticide case of a 2 -year -old boy. This was reported by the general director of the Cicpc, General Commissioner Douglas Rico, during the transmission of his “Cicpc per day” program.
After investigations carried out by commissions of the La Guaira municipal delegation, the arrest of two women allegedly involved in the fatal event was achieved. The detainees, 33 and 37, served as an infant and godmother caregiver, respectively.
According to the initial investigations, Commissioner Rico explained that women were consuming alcoholic beverages and, repeatedly, supplied liquor to the child. Subsequently, the child would have suffered a fall.
Given this situation, instead of seeking adequate medical attention, the women chose to apply a mixture of butter with salt in the alleged injury and lined him to sleep.
-The next day, noticing that the child did not react, he was transferred to a health center, where he unfortunately entered without vital signs. The autopsy practiced to the infant’s body revealed as a cause of death a hypovolemic shock secondary to an internal hemorrhage caused by a liver laceration, the result of a closed abdominal trauma.
The investigations also showed indications that the child would have been a victim of physical and psychological abuse by his caregiver.
The competent authorities will continue with the relevant investigations to determine the criminal responsibility of the detainees and apply the corresponding laws.
