The Public Ministry achieved a conviction of 17 years, 8 months and 20 days in prison against David Ruiz, found guilty of sexual violence and physical violence to the detriment of his sister, according to the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, through his social networks.
The incident occurred in the El Socorro sector, Aragua State, when Ruiz appeared in the victim’s house, identified with the MCR initials, asking him to allow him to stay in place.
However, a few minutes after having admitted, the aggressor entered his sister’s room, threatened her with a knife -like white weapon and then sexually abused her.
-The case was attended by the Prosecutor 24 of the Public Ministry in Defense for Women, which, after gathering the probative elements, made the conviction against the accused be issued.
The Attorney General described the fact as “aberrant” and stressed the commitment of the Public Ministry in the fight against gender violence, highlighting that this type of behavior will not be unpunished.
The authorities reiterated the call to victims of violence to denounce and seek protection, remembering that there are specialized organizations to attend and process this type of crimes with a gender approach and respect for human rights.
