The next challenge of Colo Colo in the Libertadores Cup will be the visit of Fluminense for date 4. After a win, a draw and a defeat, the albos will look for a win against the current champion at the Monumental Stadium to keep alive the dream of advancing to the round of 16.
The duel between Cacique and Flu will be played next Thursday, May 9, and the Brazilian team has already suffered a significant loss for the trip to Santiago. André, Fluminense’s undisputed starter, was injured and will be out of the team led by Fernando Diniz for three weeks.
The 22-year-old midfielder suffered physical complications in Flu’s draw with Cerro Porteño. He had to leave the field in stoppage time of the first half after feeling pain and receiving medical attention at La Nueva Olla, the venue where Ciclón plays.
Later, it was confirmed that André “was diagnosed with an injury to the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, following an imaging test. The anterior cruciate ligament is preserved, as is the meniscus.” In addition to the duel against Colo Colo, he will miss three Brasileirao games.

Colo Colo will also suffer significant losses to face Fluminense in less than two weeks. Leonardo Gil and Arturo Vidal were ruled out for the Copa Libertadores duel, as they received three yellow cards and must serve a one-match suspension in the competition.
They won’t be the only ones. Furthermore, Jorge Almirón already knows that he will not be able to count on Guillermo Paiva. The forward was injured from the draw with Alianza Lima and it was confirmed that he suffered a torn femoral biceps in its proximal insertion. Recovery time is four weeks.
