Wear the t-shirt Colo Colo It is a common dream among Chilean soccer players, so it is surprising that an Argentinian is dying to play for the Albos. That is the case of Brian Fernandeztrans-Andean striker who in 2019 revealed that he wanted to defend Macul’s team, but that his life took a complex path.

His drug addiction has plagued him repeatedly, even in 2023 there were fears for his life. He was fired from Morelia and after that he was left without a club, beginning a long path to return to football. He is currently in Almirante Brown and struggles to keep the demons out of his head.

However, the fight is not easy. This Wednesday, Fernández uploaded a photo with the message “Help me God, please get me out of this well” and generated widespread concern among his followers. Fortunately for football fans and his family, it was only a vent on social media.

This was stated by his ex-partner, Araceli Fessia, in conversation with MON. Even though he is no longer with the footballer, he reassured those who feared a new relapse. “We talk on the phone almost daily and we know that he is fine, thank God,” she began by indicating.

Brian Fernández continues to suffer from his addictions. He dreamed of playing in Colo Colo.

Still not over it

Along these lines, Fessia assured that Brian Fernández is still complicated by addictions. He does not undergo psychological treatment despite fears for his mental health. “He has his days, like every person with his problems that he has not yet overcome and it costs him a hard and sad fight,” she commented.

“He refuses treatment, but he is obviously not alone. The club (Almirante Brown) knows about his situation and has support that, from what I knew and could see, he is very good, like in very few clubs he had to have,” he concluded.

Colo Colo: a dream

At 29 years old, Brian Fernández begins to sentence his total remoteness with a desire as a footballer: to defend the Colo Colo shirt. In 2018, while he was preparing to leave Unión La Calera, he did not hide his desire to move to the albos.

“I would love to return to Chile and be in Colo Colo, it is the club that I have yet to play for. (…) I look at all of Colo Colo’s things because it catches my attention. I like Colón, Racing and Defensa y Justicia, which are the clubs that I like and that I only follow,” he explained in November of that year to CDF.
