The Colombian striker is suspended by FIFA. These would be the possible legal scenarios.
Harold Preciado is tormented by not being able to play in Mexican soccer for Santos Laguna, as he was suspended for being involved in a case of alleged doping.
According to the Mexican press, the Colombian striker had an adverse analytical result due to a prohibited substance that contained a medication to reduce pain and not due to an illegal substance or social drug.
The truth is that Preciado cannot play and is now legally enlisting, backed by a group of lawyers, to resolve his legal situation and find out if he can play again soon, or will have to pay a fine.
The newspaper ‘Record’, from Mexico, explained the possible scenarios that Harold Preciado would face. Journalist David Medrano shed some light in his column, making it clear that the path to proving his innocence will be very complicated.
“Confessing guilty and accepting a two-year punishment that can then be appealed or fighting to the end with the risk that the sanction could be up to four years, these are the scenarios for Harold Preciado, the Santos Laguna scorer who is suspended by FIFA for having tested positive for doping,” Medrano said.
“Another scenario is to appeal to the procedure that has been followed by the laboratory. The forward has to make a decision, since Santos Laguna has no participation in this issue, since his contract is frozen,” he added.
