LOS ANGELES — Shohei Ohtani continued his power surge with his fourth home run in three games and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins 6-3 on Monday in Walker Buehler’s first start in nearly two years.
Ohtani became the first major league player to reach 11 home runs of the season when he hit a fastball from Roddery Muñoz (1-1) that stayed high and sent it 441 feet to center field for a two-run drive. in the first inning that tied the score 2-2.
It is the eighth time in his career that he has hit a home run in three consecutive games and the fourth time he has hit four in a three-game span.
Two pitches after Ohtani’s home run, Freddie Freeman followed with a solo home run to left-center field, the first time this season the Dodgers have hit consecutive home runs.
James Outman and Teoscar Hernández also homered in the Dodgers’ fourth straight victory.
Buehler went four innings, allowing three runs and six hits with four strikeouts. Of his 77 pitches, 49 were strikes. Ryan Yarbrough (3-1) followed Buehler’s three-inning work with a hit and Alex Vesia worked the ninth for his first save.
For the Marlins, Dominicans Jesús Sánchez went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Bryan de la Cruz went 1 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI.
For the Dodgers, Dominican Teoscar Hernández went 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI. Cuban Andy Pagés 3-1.
