With a great goal from Edinson Cavani from a free kick, Boca beat Sportivo Trinidense 2-1 on their visit to the La Nueva Olla stadium, and moved to the top of Group D of the Copa Sudamericana.
The visitor started losing with a goal from Brian Andrada, but Jorge Figal equalized the duel and at the end, with a free kick, Edinson Cavani gave Diego Martínez’s team the victory.
With this result, Boca was left with seven points in second place, two points behind the leader Fortaleza. The table is completed by Nacional Potosí with four units and Sportivo Trinidense with three.
In an even first half, Boca came closer in the first minutes with the arrival of Edison Cavani, who finished off with a half turn and the ball passed meters from the left post guarded by Wilson Quiñonez. The local team arrived with Omar Andrada, who had a foot in hand but raised his shot too high.
At 21 minutes, the VAR reviewed a handball by Axel Cañete in the area, after a hit by Lautaro Blanco, but the main judge continued the game, there was no penalty for Boca.
While the team led by Diego Martínez tried to recover the ball, Trinidense arrived with Brian Andrada, who took advantage of another defensive oversight by Boca and opened the scoring for the 1-0 in favor of the Paraguayan team.
In the controversial complement, Trinidense was going to be left with ten men just after five minutes due to the expulsion of Brian Andrada for a double yellow, first for taking off his shirt during the goal celebration and then for an infringement in the middle of the field on Ezequiel Fernández.
