LOS ANGELES — Ezequiel Tovar had a home run and three hits, Dakota Hudson gave up a run and four hits in seven-plus innings and the Colorado Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1 on Friday.

Hudson (2-7) entered the game with just 17 runs in support, the fifth-worst mark in the majors among pitchers with at least 10 starts. But the Rockies took the lead with three runs in the fourth inning, followed by Tovar’s solo homer off Walker Buehler (1-3), who took the loss. It was the fifth time that the Venezuelan took it out of the park in May.

Jalen Beeks pitched 1 1/3 innings for his sixth save in nine opportunities.

The Rockies, who won the series played in their stadium against Philadelphia – leader of the East Division of the National League – and Cleveland – which is in front of the American Central -, have won five of their last seven matches.

The Dodgers, for their part, have the second-best record in the NL, but Buehler struggled — he gave up four runs, three of them earned, on six hits with four walks and seven strikeouts — and failed to produce results on offense.

For the Rockies, Venezuelan Elías Díaz 3-0. Dominican Elehuris Montero 3-0.

For the Dodgers, Dominican Teoscar Hernández 0-4. Venezuelan Miguel Rojas 2-0.
