The manager made it clear that despite not having evidence, he will not allow these issues to stain the club and Colombian football.
“We are aware of the situations we have experienced, we must pay great attention to the issue of betting in Colombia, to match fixing. That is an issue that has us with enormous concern, any player or person with fixing, management or suspicion of any football issue in terms of selling matches or bets, will be suddenly removed from the institution and several players who we do not have any proof, but their plays are very suspicious, they no longer belong to the team,” Soto said.
And he concluded by mentioning that he hopes that no FPC club hires the players he fired: “It is the call we make to all Colombian professional football, here any suspicious play where the integrity of a player and institution is in question must be withdrawn and not to be hired by any team because we are treading very thinly.”
