MILWAUKEE — Yusei Kikuchi and four Toronto Blue Jays relievers combined to shut out the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 on Tuesday.

Kikuchi (4-5) allowed three hits in five innings, walked four and struck out five to record consecutive wins for the first time since April.

Dominican closer Yimi García got four outs to record his fifth save in six attempts.

Nicaraguan Carlos Rodríguez (0-1) became the eighth Brewers player to make his Major League debut this season.

The 22-year-old right-hander also became the 12th different pitcher to make a start for Milwaukee in 67 games. The franchise record is 17 set by the Seattle Pilots in 1969.

Selected in the sixth round of the 2021 draft by the Brewers, Rodríguez became the 16th Nicaraguan-born player in Major League history and the first for the Brewers. He allowed seven hits and two runs in 3 2/3 innings, walking one and striking out four.

The loss ended a six-game winning streak at home for the Brewers, who left 10 runners on base.

For the Brewers, Venezuelan William Contreras 4-1.
