Julio César Falcioni is no longer the coach of Banfield, as reported by the club through a statement on its social networks. This announcement marks the end of the experienced coach’s fifth cycle leading the team. The decision was made “by mutual agreement” at a meeting held on Friday.

The Emperor coached his last match against Independiente last Wednesday, in a duel that ended with a 2-1 defeat as a visitor. His fifth cycle with Banfield had begun in May of last year. Falcioni’s departure comes at a key moment, “at the beginning of the break and 34 days before the restart of the competition”, suggesting that the club will not rush in the search for a new coach.

The Banfield Board of Directors began to look for options for leading the first team, with the intention of announcing the new coaching staff in the coming days. “Just from this moment, the Board of Directors is dedicated to searching for options,” the statement said.

The leadership of “Taladro” had offered Falcioni a position in the Sports Secretariat led by Roberto Battión, where he could serve as manager. However, it remains to be seen if the coach will accept this new challenge, as there was no confirmation in this regard. Falcioni’s departure marks the end of an era at Banfield, where his presence was constant and significant. His ability to manage the team and his commitment to the club were recognized by both the management and the fans.
